- Description
- This research project sought to explore the impact flood events had on communities in the Hunter Valley Region and its relationship to Sustainable Development Goal 13, with the aim to find ways to improve community resilience. Two Local Government Areas, Cessnock and Singleton were targeted due to recent, ongoing flood events impacting the areas. The research methodology included a literature review and a series of interviews with stakeholders in the LGAs, with a resultant thematic analysis. The preliminary findings were then presented at a half day workshop, where a further session was held to incorporate participant ideas on the research concept. A short 3-minute video was produced using footage taken during the interview sessions and drone imagery provided by NSW SES of flooding in the region, to provide an overview of the project.
